John J. Polk

John J. Polk (Aslaksen) has been loitering with intent around the Northeast Ohio theatre community for, ooohhhh, a few decades now. His last performance prior to The Plague was in The Drowsy Chaperone (Feldzieg) at French Creek Theatre. Other favorites include Other Desert Cities (Lyman Wyeth) at Clague Playhouse; Kiss Of The Spider Woman (The Warden), Sideshow (Sir), Urinetown: The Musical (Cladwell), Cabaret (Herr Schultz), Our Town (Doc Gibbs), and Cuckoo’s Nest (Dale Haarding) at Blank Canvas Theatre; Little Women (Mr. Laurence) at French Creek and Oberlin Summer Theatre Festival; The Scottish Play (Duncan, Old Siward), The Winter’s Tale (Old Shepherd), and Romeo And Juliet (Lord Montague) at Oberlin;  Spirits To Enforce (The Snow-Heavy Branch) at Cleveland Public Theatre; Lend Me A Tenor (Henry Saunders), Mary Poppins: The Musical (Admiral Boom, The Chairman) and A Man Of No Importance (Father Kenney) at Beck Center. Thanks to My Charming Wife, Laure, for her (nearly) constant love and support, To Fred, for having the good taste to cast me, and our kids for their enthusiasm for My Life In The Theatre. If my 20-year-old self knew that his 60-something self would still be singing, (sorta) dancing, and showing off, even HE would have been impressed…
